Andrea Conner, now the Director of Secondary Programs for Loveland Schools, grew up on a farm in Brown County, Ohio. It was there that she developed her strong work ethic as she helped out on the farm growing up.
It was also where she developed a passion for teaching. She knew she was great with people and enjoyed working with children.
In high school, with the help of a stern English teacher, she developed a love of writing, which led to her studying English in college herself. Though she initially convinced herself she would go on to get a law degree, she knew she had a passion for teaching.
After several years in the classroom, Andrea decided she wanted to make an impact for the students in a different way and stepped into administration and curriculum work.
Currently, as the Director of Secondary Programs, she helps students ask the question “what do you want to do with your life” much sooner than their senior year of high school. Through their programs they give the students aptitude tests and work with them to help them discover their talents and passions.
She also works to help students get college credits while in high school as well as internships so that they have a better idea of whether or not they will enjoy the field they are exploring before they rack up college debt.
If you are interested in helping out Andrea and Loveland Schools they are always looking for small businesses to help provide real work experience for the students in the form of internships.
