Nick Winnenberg knew from ten years old he was into business. Loved animals (didn’t have a pet Giraffe) however, knew business was his thing at ten years old.
His brother went to Anderson High School, so being the independent character he is, he decided Turpin was a better choice.
Not a math kid, but a people skills kind of a person, Nick decided to attend Ohio University, originally pre-med. Maybe a doctor, a vet? But, organic chemistry…well, maybe business is a better choice.
“Nick, you suck at this”, says his father. Well, maybe not exactly like that, but Nick got the message. Not a doctor in the physical sense, but maybe heal people in a different way, using your natural talents….. help people repair their careers.
So, Nick changed his major and studied business. “Align your skills with your career”.
As a camp counselor, Nick learned to lead, interact with kids, and understand human behavior.
Learning how to help a young boy deal with the loss of his mother was a huge turning point in his young camp counselor career. Code Semba. Wow.
Listen as Nick shares the story of how this camp counselor job impacted him. Life lesson from camp counselor. “To really make an impact, you just need to be there, just show up”.
So, Nick joins the family company and puts his skills to good use.
