My life was full of pretense. You see I had multiple personalities. While working I behaved a certain way, yet a another way at home, and again a new personality at church. The pretender, always trying to fit in, just like junior high. An outsider who desperately cared what people thought about him. Insecure.
I was taught that your personal life and business life should be kept separate, that you shouldn’t mix business and personal beliefs.
These rules caused me to compartmentalize. To pretend.
I call bullshit.
You see, I discovered that there is no “business life”, or “personal life”, it is only one life. And it is mine to design. The rules of my life are mine for the making.
The guy you see at work is the same guy you’re gonna see at home or the ballpark. No longer does he feel a need to fit in. He’s free.
Those who like that guy, they will show up in his life and they will do business with him.
That guy in the mirror, he’s more than good enough.
